Outreach & PR Intern
CounterFin is a Newark-based, Forbes 30 Under 30 Social Impact honoree helping workers navigate disability and leave benefits so they don’t lose everything when work stops. We combine lived experience, technology, and human support to guide people through SSDI, TDI, FLI and related claims.
Responsibilities
- Research journalists, podcasts, newsletters, and community outlets that reach our audience
- Help build and maintain media and partner contact lists in spreadsheets/CRM
- Draft pitch emails, briefing docs, and simple one-pagers for outreach
- Track outreach status (who we contacted, responses, follow-ups, and wins)
- Support prep for events, webinars, and speaking opportunities
Qualifications
- Current student eligible for academic credit
- Strong research and writing skills; can synthesize info into clear bullets
- Detail-oriented and comfortable working in Google Sheets/Docs
- Interest in PR, public affairs, disability, benefits, or social impact
- Comfortable reaching out to people professionally via email and LinkedIn
